TREBALL DE SÍNTESI 2013

GLOBAL WARMING PANIC OR REALITY?

1. What is global warming?
Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans since the late 19th century and its projected continuation. Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, cloud forests are drying, and wildlife is scrambling to keep pace  Carbon dioxide and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun's heat and causing the planet to warm up.

2. What is the process involved in the greenhouse effect?
The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring process that aids in heating the Earth's surface and atmosphere. It results from the fact that certain atmospheric gases, such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, and methane, are able to change the energy balance of the planet by absorbing longwave radiation emitted from the Earth's surface. Without the greenhouse effect life on this planet would probably not exist as the average temperature of the Earth would be a chilly -18° Celsius, rather than the present 15° Celsius.

3. What signs warn us about global warming?
To fully appreciate the urgency of climate change, it's important to understand the ways it affects society and the natural environment. Sea levels are rising and glaciers are shrinking; record high temperatures and severe rainstorms and droughts are becoming increasingly common. Changes in temperatures and rainfall patterns alter plant and animal behavior and have significant implications for humans.

Can you quote another term for global warming?
Another term for global warming is: climate change.

Watch the video and explain this idea: Global warming: panic or reality?
I think that global warning is a reality because we make the contamination that is in the world. We're destroying our planet day by day. If we propose we can change, we need that change.

What can we do to stop global warming? suggest five ideas
- Using public transports
- Using renewable energies
- Using recycling containers
- Using light bulbs
- Going by bicycle or on foot.
